Vacation

We just had a family vacation, nothing exciting, except that Scott was away from work for 20 days! That is always a great thing. We took a trip down to San Diego this year and had all these great plans of laying out and playing in all the wonderful pools and water slides that had there at the resort. Well mother freaking nature had a different idea for us. She decided that she would make the weather suck and make us freeze, considering we only brought shorts and sandal's with us. We did have fun hanging out together and watching the NBA finals.

Our first day of vacation started off with this little beauty and her dance recital. She did a pretty good job after many death threats and bribes. She was in a foul mood from not napping and she was not having it. But she got out of her funk, luckily, and we had a great time watching her do her thing. It was a very low budget recital, but it was all free so I'm not going to complain, and Hannah looked so stinking cute!!!
We did attempt the pool everyday. Scott and I went on the water slides just to do it even though it was pretty cold. We spent most of the time either under the towels or in the "hot pool" as Hannah calls it. They were troopers though and enjoyed the below zero water every second they were in it. I think they both just really loved playing with Scott and they didn't mind the cold as long as their "Handsome Prince" was in there with them.
We went to the San Diego Zoo and it was kind of a bust. But Leah got lots of stares from the passing people because how relaxed her nap was. This was probably the most sleep she got the whole trip. She is the most amazing sleeper but I guess only if it's in her bed! She did not like the pack and play or the room. But it was pretty funny at how kicked back she looks.
People were also more disgusted with how I put my child on a "leash" instead of the monkey who was touching his man-goods, and boy was he going to town! I had to laugh since the people who were commenting on her backpack leash were also childless. They obviously have no idea that if you give a child freedom; they will run.
But one wonderful thing that came from spending most of our time in our room was Leah decided that crawling is not cool anymore. She has known how to walk for some time now, but she did not crawl the whole time and she is practically running now. Any time spent with my family is always ideal so we did not mind too much that the weather was crappy, even though a couple days before he goes back to work it's in the 80's! So we ended the vacation at our pool. F.Y.I. there are no pictures of Scott because he decided to grow a full on mountain man beard! Maybe next time he has a vacation I won't shave my legs or armpits!!!! hahahahaha

You crack me up. I have that monkey leash too so don't feel bad. People who don't have kids are stupid when it comes to that kind of stuff. I think that's awesome that you make death threats and bribes to get your kids to behave....glad I'm not the only one! haha :)

Dang it, I would have paid $20 to see Scott with his mountain man beard. Ya, we have one of those 'leashes' too. Basically when my kids are in those things, they end up dragging me around. I might as well be the one wearing the leash. BTW, LOVE that first picture of Hannah. So adorable!!!

Bummer your weather stunk, but sometimes the kids have the most fun in the hotel room anyway. I bet you have just loved having Scott home for 20 days, I can't wait to have this baby so Jason can have a few weeks off!
P.S. We're having a GIRL!!

Hannah looks so adorable in her outfit. That's so nice that Scott was home for so long. I don't know when we are ever going to have a vacation. It's been 2 years but at least C.J. only works 4 days a week.
